Dawn Ride - June Print of the Month

Dawn Ride - June Print of the Month

To make this image, I got up at 4am to be on the beach in North Norfolk by 6. Horses were only allowed on the sands before the beach began to fill later in the morning, so this quiet window belonged to the riders, the sea, and the first light of the day.

That morning I met Louis and his rider, who kindly posed in the surf and along the shoreline for me. Against the vast sweep of beach and water, horse and rider moved through the early light with a freedom that felt made for the place.

I deliberately kept the rider small within the frame. I didn’t want this to be a portrait of Louis, but something more open — a horse and rider in a huge landscape, where the viewer might imagine themselves in that moment, riding through the surf with the whole beach still empty and the day only just beginning.

Printed at 16 x 9", this piece celebrates space, freedom, and the quiet exhilaration of an early summer morning. The panoramic landscape and small subject create a strong sense of openness, drawing the eye across the beach and into the scene. For this month only at the special price of £70.

Each print is individually produced and checked in the studio before being numbered and signed. Once all ten have been collected, this edition will be permanently retired - ensuring the rarity of your piece.
